Inka trail to Machupicchu 4 days / 3 night

Day 1 : Chilca - Huayllabamba
Early start from Cusco, by truck to Chillka, in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas. In this point we will meet our porters, and start a few hours of easy hike, reaching the village of Huayllabamba (Depending on the group's energy we may continue up to Llullucha)
Camping, Dinner & Overnight.
Day 2: Llullucha - Runkuraqay
Today, after a breakfast, we reach an elevation of 3,600 m. and keep going uphill to the first pass (4,200 m.) at Warmiwañuska, (Death woman's pass) from where we have a scenery view over the snowcapped peaks of the Andes, and the vegetation of the valleys, at the "edge of jungle". As we are traveling lightly our chances to observe the environment are the best. From the river shores, to this elevation, we have passed by several different ecological zones.
We descend downhill and then up again towards our campsite at Runkuraqay
Camping, Dinner & Overnight.
Day 3 : Runkuraqay
We start our climb in Runkuraqay, just below the second pass.
After this pass we have a fairly smooth walk trough stone covered trails and we visit another citadel, Sallaqmarka, built on top of a cliff and later phuyupatamarka (City above the clouds) The architecture is superb and the environment... unique.
We continue on walking downhill towards our campsite at Wiñay wayna.
Here we find some baic facilities as showers, at a local hiker's lodge.
Camping, Dinner & Overnight
Day 4: Wiñay Wayna - MACHUPICCHU
Early wakeup in order to walk towards the Gate of the sun, before the sun raises.
Extraordinary view of the sunrise, and then leisure walking towards the Holy Lost city of the Inkas by the Royal road.
Time to explore on your own. In the mid afternoon, board the train back to Cusco.
Alternatively you can book an extra night at one of the local lodges in Aguas Calientes in order to have more time to enjoy the magic of this sacred site.
